JBLM Soldiers Prepare For Santa’s Castle Ruck March

Soldiers from the 555th Engineer Brigade will support military families this holiday season by participating in the unit's 2nd Annual Santa's Castle Ruck March at 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldiers will ruck march their donations of new, unwrapped toys from the Brigade’s headquarters at Able Field along a 3-mile route to the American Lake Community Center at Joint Base Lewis-MChord Lewis North.

Last year, about 700 Soldiers from the 14th Engineer Battalion; 864th Engineer Battalion; 23rd Chemical Battalion; 110th Chemical Battalion; 3rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion; and Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 555th Engineer Brigade participated. The brigade expects as large a turnout this year.

Santa’s Castle is a non profit organization which provides holiday gifts for children of military families during the holiday season. Last year, Santa’s Castle provided gifts to approximately 2,100 children from nearly 900 active-duty (or activated National Guard and Reserve) families, representing all branches of military service, from throughout the Pacific Northwest.
