Letter to the Editor: Lakewood Resident Frustruated About Camp Murray Relocation Proposal

A rally is scheduled at City Hall at 7 p.m. by Community Matters, a civic engagement group in Tillicum. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

I received the following e-mail from Roberta Fearn, Lakewood resident. It was addressed to Mr. Bugher, Lakewood assistant city manager.

"Words cannot express the disappointment this community feels with your recent change of attitude regarding Camp Murray’s gate proposal.  No matter what or how many reasons (excuses) you come up with; the result is still the same – the residents were sold out and the city was bought off!

We heard before from Deputy Mayor Don Anderson, that short of additional lanes on I-5, this gate relocation is no more than “lipstick on a pig”.  Who’s wearing the lipstick now?
