Sept. 19 Lakewood City Council Meeting Cancelled

With no action items currently on the agenda, city officials will meet next Monday for their biweekly study session.

The 7 p.m. Lakewood City Council meeting tonight was cancelled, mainly because there are no big action items on the agenda. But there will be for the Sept. 3 meeting, according to said Dave Bugher, Lakewood assistant city manager.

Also, Lakewood City Manager Andrew Neiditz is out of town.

Bugher said the city is working on a a couple important grants related to South Sound transportation and hiring a consultant to help identify the needs of military families living in Lakewood and the surrounding area.

The Community Development Block Grant will be used to augment the city of Lakewood for staffing and a survey for military personnel and their dependants on where they shop, what kind of housing they're looking for.

"It's a read on what kind of services they'd like to see in the area," Bugher said.
