Pierce County Councilman and 10th Congressional Candidate recently gained a critical endorsement from the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS).

The Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs is a professional organization that has protected the rights and quality of life for sworn law enforcement officers before the Washington State Legislature for more than 50 years. Muri serves on several public safety committees within Pierce County, giving him experience on law enforcement issues. Muri has a record of supporting and prioritizing public safety funding and passing legislation that backs tough penalties for crime.

WACOPS joins other public safety organizations, such as the Pierce County Corrections Deputies Guild and the Lakewood Police Independent Guild, in endorsing Dick Muri.

Dick Muri is running in the new 10th Congressional District—an open seat—in a district that heavily favors Pierce County, where he beat Congressman Adam Smith in 2010.  Muri has been a member of the Pierce County Council for nine years, serves as the Executive Pro Tem, and previously sat on the Steilacoom School Board.
