Three Lakewood City Manager Candidates Chat With Public

On Monday, the three remaining candidates for the Lakewood city manager position pitched themselves to residents.

The candidates - John Caulfield, Matthew Fulton and Kevin Phelps - met with residents during a meet-and-greet session at Clover Park Technical College.

On Tuesday, the three candidates will meet with several city appointed panels, as well as the Lakewood City Council for their formal interviews.

For two of the candidates - the drive to Lakewood isn't that far. Phelps is Pierce County's deputy executive, and Caulfield is Mountlake Terrace's city manager.

Fulton is an organizational consultant for Daly City, CA.

The trio amounts to one less person than the city was expecting to bring in for interviews. W. Scott Larese, CEO of a privately held company, informed the city Monday that he wouldn't be able to make it and withdrew his name from consideration.
