VIDEO: Preview of Lakewood Sounder Service

Lakewood and other South Sound residents can begin using the service Monday, Oct. 8.

As promised in the photo gallery from Monday's Sounder preview out of Lakewood, here is the video of the ride to the Tacoma Dome Station and back, as well as comments from officials.

The ride included stops at Lakewood Station, South Tacoma Station and Tacoma Dome Station.

I hope that the Sounder service is ranI independently from the rest of Pierce Co Transit as our local transit has made themselves irrelevant. I have always voted to support transit services but that has now changed. With the close of the very busy 402 bus route another community of tax payers has been cut off and cut out despite all of our tax contributions. There is no parallel service and no access to the sounder for anyone in Elk Plains or Graham anylonger

These are two separate agencies, Danielle. Sound Transit is a multi-county, independent agency formed to tackle the Puget Sound region's transportation needs. Pierce Transit is local. They do sometimes cooperate with each other, but as far as operations, they're separate.
