Work Around Lakewood: TPU Pole Relocation, Gas Main Replacement, Roadway Striping

The City of Lakewood lets us know what projects could affect our daily commute.

Bridgeport Way – 83rd to 75th – TPU Pole Relocation: Within the next two weeks, TPU will be relocating poles on Bridgeport Way between 83rd and 75th Streets SW in preparation for the future roadway widening for and continuous 2-way center turn lane, curb, gutter, sidewalks, and street lights.  Work will take up to four weeks and include temporary lane closures during the day.

Nyanza Road – PSE Gas Main Replacement: Gas main replacement work continues on Nyanza Road between Gravelly Lake Drive South and Gravelly Lake Drive North.  Temporary lane closures during the day may cause delays.  Work on the gas main replacement should be complete within one week and followed up with pavement and shoulder restoration over the next 2-3 weeks.

Roadway Striping: Roadway striping on various Lakewood streets throughout the City will be completed by Pierce County Public Works Department.  They anticipate completing the work between the mid-to-end of June (weather dependent).  The City asks drivers not to cross freshly painted lines.
