Readers' Choice: Lakewold Gardens Is Sweetest Spot to Take Mom to Brunch

Famed gardens off Gravelly Lake Drive are known to put on a great spread for Mother's Day, and Patch readers agree.

Lakewold Gardens isn't technically a restaurant, but when it comes to celebrating Mom, it will more than suffice.

The famed gardens off Gravelly Lake Drive won this week's for the best place in Lakewood for Mother's Day brunch. received 55 percent of the vote for its yearly spread.

In second place was the , and and tied for third place.

Lakewold Gardens is a Washington State Historic Landmark featuring a Georgian-style mansion, historic architecture, rare and native plants, state champion trees, more than 900 rhododendrons and 30 Japanese maples spread across 10 acres.

Its buffet-style brunch, which is already sold out for this year, features such delicacies as frittatas, sausage and bacon, bagels with smoked salmon spread, chocolate covered strawberries, a tea service and champagne mimosas.
