Lakes High Gets Crash Course in Dangers Of Drunk Driving

Sometimes, the most important life lessons for young adults are the ones they witness themselves.

And while no one would ever wish for a teenager to be involved in a serious car crash, Lakes High, along with local enforcement, fire and businesses, gave students an up-close look at the likely consequences of drunk driving last week.

West Pierce Fire & Rescue and Lakes conducted their annual mock DUI crash, as graduation night and end-of-the-year parties loom in a few weeks.

It wasn't just about words, either. Student actors portrayed the victims of the crash, which judging by this picture was as realistic as possible.

In addition to West Pierce and Lakes, Lakewood Police, Mountain View Funeral Home and Lakewood Towing helped stage the production.
