Every four years, journalists come together for the rite to eat pizza and wait patiently for the first returns from the general election.
That's right. It's election night.
Tonight, we will work to bring you the latest results and talk to local winners and losers. Election night is something every journalist must experience/endure/escape without injury.
This year, the editors of the Patch sites in Pierce County - me of Lakewood and University Place fame; Lauren Padgett from Puyallup, Bonney Lake and Sumner; and Akiko Oda of Gig Harbor - are making Pierce College's Fort Steilacoom campus its election headquarters. No, we don't offer huge crowds or celebrity pundits, but we will set up our computers and hope the wifi the works.
In all seriousness, big thanks to Pierce College for allowing us to cover the election from your beautiful Lakewood campus. Check back often for the latest election news.
