PICTURE OF THE DAY: Oakbrook Gets $500 From Lakewood Albertsons

The Lakewood school got the money as part of the store's grand reopening.

Check out this photo of Oakbrook Elementary getting a $500 check from Lakewood Albertsons as part of its grand reopening this past week.

Here's the story from Clover Park spokeswoman Jayme Taylor:

The Lakewood Albertsons grocery store celebrated its grand re-opening on Oct. 31. As part of the festivities, Simone Appleton, store manager, presented Jeff Murrell, principal of nearby Oakbrook Elementary School, with a $500 gift card.

According to Murrell, the money will be used to purchase holiday meals for needy students and their families. Albertson’s annually supports families in Clover Park schools with holiday turkey meal baskets.

Neighboring Steilacoom High School also received a $500 gift card.

Very generous donation from Albertsons, and congratulations, Oakbrook!
