Breakdown: The Lancers are off to a blistering start in 2011, winning their first two games by a combined score of 112-14. New quarterback David Wood has attempted 27 passes so far on the season and has completed seven of them for touchdowns. Running back Levonte Littlejohn returned from a mild ankle sprain suffered in week one to rush for four touchdowns in last week’s 49-6 landslide victory over Evergreen, while Cedric Dozier returned from a concussion to pass for 42 yards, rush for 53 and catch a touchdown pass. Kevin Thompson has eleven tackles and two sacks to lead the defense. Capital is 0-2 on the season with losses to O’Dea and Olympia on its schedule.

Breakdown: Clover Park followed up its 63-8 opening week loss to cross-town rival Lakes with a more competitive effort against Foster, but still lost 41-26 to drop to 0-2. The Warriors had a shot at knocking off 3A Foster, trailing by just two heading into the fourth, but were shut out in the final frame. Deshaun Green has rushed for three touchdowns on the season for Clover Park. Franklin Pierce is 1-1 on the season, having lost 7-6 to Centralia on opening night before beating Cascade Christian 19-13 last week.
