Lakes Boys, Girls Finish Second in SPSL 3A and Enter Sub-District Playoffs Saturday

The Lancers boys host Bremerton while the girls play Hazen, respectively. If both teams win, they will travel to Franklin Pierce next week to play the Narrows League No. 3 seed in the opening round of the West Central District playoffs.

The Lakes boys basketball team wrapped up its regular season on Feb. 3 with a 78-40 road victory against Peninsula. They finished second in the South Puget Sound League 3A with an overall record of 13-7, 8-2 league.

The Decatur Gators (16-4 overall, 10-0 league) captured this year’s league crown.

The 3A defending state champions will host Bremerton at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday during the sub-district playoffs. If they win, they will play the Narrows League No. 3 seed at 8 p.m. at Franklin Pierce on Feb. 14.

The Lakes girls hoops squad concluded its season on a high note by clobbering Peninsula 75-28 on Feb. 3. They placed second in the South Puget Sound League 3A behind Auburn Mountainview with a 16-3 overall, 7-2 league record.

The Lancers open up sub-district action by hosting Hazen at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. If they win, they will also play the Narrows League No. 3 seed at 8 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Franklin Pierce High School.
