Preparing For the Future

In his second installment, Clover Park junior goal keeper Douglas Kim discusses managing a tough academic schedule and staying focused on the soccer field.

I don't just play soccer at Clover Park High School. I take my classes seriously and have fun, but I take hard classes for my future as a college student.

Right now, I'm taking Advanced Placement U.S. History, AP Physics and AP Language. The reason I take my classes seriously is because of how the economy is, and I need to work toward my future now.

These classes are pretty hard, but I get a lot of help from my friends on the soccer team. But I get the most help from Ga-Young Jin, my girlfriend.

We usually go to the library and study for a couple hours. She also helps me out when we have study hall during school. Knowing I have someone assisting me in every class helps me the most. I'm on good terms with all my teachers and they also help me a lot when I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing.

We have soccer matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week and hopefully the Warriors will be able to come together and put all the things we've learned in practice and work as a team, make our coach proud and make this whole week a victory.
