Tacoma Golf & Country Club's Chris Griffin Wins Sterling Bank Washington Open Invitational

The assistant pro at the Lakewood golf course finished the tournament 8-under en route to a $6,000 victory.

Chris Griffin, the assistant pro at Tacoma Golf & Country Club, captured a two-stroke victory at the Sterling Bank Washington Open Invitational.

Representing the Lakewood golf course, Griffin shot a 68 on Wednesday to finish 8-under for the three-day tournament at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent.

With the win, Griffin won $6,000. His caddy reportedly was his wife of eight months.

Griffin is the shortest golfer on the course at 5-foot-4, according to The Seattle Times.

But height didn't matter, as Griffin captured the biggest tournament win of his career.
