It is a mutually beneficial experience for the Lakewood-based Emergency Food Network, which is working to get its name out there.

"Baseball games usually attract large audiences and we want as many people to know about us as possible," said Elizabeth Chipps-Freeman, associate development director for EFN. "This seemed like a good avenue."

All proceeds and donations directly benefit the Lakewood-based Emergency Food Network, which distributes food to 67 food banks, shelters and meal sites in Pierce County.

In preparation for the event, Rainiers catcher Brandon Bantz, Rhubarb the Reindeer, and members of the Rainiers staff volunteered at EFN on June 8, where they repacked 7,050 pounds of bulk frozen corn into family-sized portions.

"We wanted to work with them and get our name out there more," Chipps-Freeman said. "They were nice enough to volunteer."

There are two ticket prices. The Group Express Ticket, for $10.50, includes a reserved seat ticket, a ballpark meal of a hot dog, chips and a drink and a complimentary game program. The Group Double Play Ticket, for $16.50 per person, features the same items as well as a limited edition Rainiers hat.
