Warriors' Rorie Makes Elite ESPN List
Sophomore guard named one of the nation's top 60 players in the Class of 2014.
Clover Park sophomore Ahmaad Rorie is getting some big notice: He is one of an elite group of high-school players to make ESPN's top 60 players in the Class of 2014.
Rorie a 6-foot guard who earlier this spring committed to the University of California, is No. 55 on the list.

Rorie is a chiseled point guard who pushes it well in transition, has ideal vision, and a fairly sharp pull-up game. He plays with tremendous poise and confidence as well. Overall, he has the ability to affect the game with his facilitating and scoring.
He scored a tournament high 46 in a 79-49 win against Ellensburg in the consolation semifinals of the 2A state tournament this year and 101 total points in the three games Clover Park played at the Yakima SunDome.

In 2011, he and fellow guard David Crisp, who he calls a cousin, led the Class 2A Warriors to their first state title in school history.
Rorie is the only player from Washington on the 2014 list, while Bothell junior Zach LaVine, a point guard, represents for the state on the 2013 list.
Rorie in December told Patch that playing basketball gives him a chance to earn money to support his mother, who has been his No. 1 supporter.
“I don’t just want to make it to the NBA,” he said. “I want to be a star."
