Clover Park Technical College Starts Recruitment of New President

The Clover Park Technical College Board of Trustees is now seeking qualified candidates to become the next president of the college.

The Clover Park Technical College Board of Trustees is now seeking qualified candidates to become the next president of the college. The comprehensive search was initiated after Dr. John Walstrum announced he would retire this September. Applications are due June 14.

“We are committed to a transparent and inclusive process to find the best person to lead Clover Park Technical College into the future,” said Bruce Lachney, chair of the Board of Trustees. “Our process will include input from on and off-campus sources to ensure we find a visionary candidate prepared to capitalize on the many achievements during John’s tenure.”

After a period of input gathering from College staff and community leaders, the Trustees have finalized a Presidential Profile and hired the Association of Community College Trustees to help lead the recruitment process.

A 13-member Search Advisory Committee was formed by the Board of Trustees to assist in the process. The committee includes representatives from across the campus and three community members.

A website has been set-up to provide progress reports and developments on the search at www.cptc.edu/presidentialsearch. The site also provides a tentative calendar, relevant materials and details on the application process.
