Scholarship opportunity available to current, former CPTC students

The Trustees Association for Community and Technical Colleges is looking for a few good students and their stories that tell how attending a Washington state community or technical college has transformed their lives. This year the emphasis will be on students who have completed or made significant progress toward completing a degree or certificate that has helped them prepare for, or be successful in, a competitive workforce.

TACTC will honor these current or former CTC students at its Legislative Contact Conference in Olympia on Tuesday evening, Jan. 29, 2013.
Five students with the most compelling stories will be chosen to speak at the keynote dinner and will be presented with a Transforming Lives Award of $500 each.

All students and their stories will be included in an awards publication that will be used for distribution to legislators while trustees are in Olympia for the conference.

To apply for this award, Clover Park Technical College students or alumni should prepare a 500-word essay telling the story of how attending CPTC helped to transform their lives. The essays are due via email to June Stacey-Clemons (june.stacey-clemons@cptc.edu) by Friday, Nov. 30.
