Lakewood Boy Scout Needs Help With Church Fence Project

In his mission to become an Eagle Scout, Boy Scout Kevin Starr wants to rebuild and extend the fencing outside his church. He hopes the public will lend a hand financially.

I got the following e-mail from Patch user Carol Starr, who submitted it on behalf of her grandson, Kevin. He will turn 16 in August and is planning a very cool project that will help him become an Eagle Scout.

Good luck, Kevin!

This needs to be done as soon as possible in order for the Learning Center to meet the criteria for Washington State Certification. The fence that needs to be replaced will be torn down, and a new wooden fence will be constructed along the entire side and back of the play yard.

I am hoping to find some artists to decorate the new fence as well. The new fence will be about 250 feet long. The materials for this fence will be wood and cost about $3,000. I am asking for donations to be able to complete this project.

If you would like to donate you can write a check out to Boy Scout Troop 53 and mail it to me at 11801 96th Ave SW, Lakewood, WA 98498. All donations are tax deductible. If you have questions you can contact me at (253) 584-3458.

Thank you!

Kevin Starr
