Casa Mia is an Italian restaurant and pizzeria that manages to combine elegant charm with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Located in the Meadowpark Plaza, right across from the big open-air produce market, Casa Mia serves wines and authentic New York-style Italian dishes like cannelloni, manicotti and tortellini. But Jamie Pense, who runs the franchise with her husband Gerald, says their pride is “the best hand-tossed pizza in town.” Although the couple makes pizzas with all the classic toppings — pepperoni, sausage, salami and more — she says their best seller is one of a gourmet offering: chicken pizza with three cheeses. Vegetarians love the potato gorgonzola truffle pizza. The largest of nine restaurants in the Hoquiam-based chain, Casa Mia does a lot of catering and banqueting, especially for school groups and sports teams. The restaurant is architecturally striking, beautifully decorated inside in warm tones with vintage Italian poster art.
