McDonald's
10417 Pacific Highway SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
The McDonald's restaurant at Lakewood's busiest intersection may  be among the most elegant the enormous fast-foodMore chain has ever built. The dining areas feature subdued lighting, dark woods and art on the walls.  It is a high-volume restaurant—the enormous high-tech kitchen looks like a Navy galley—mostly because of its location next to a busy Pierce Transit park-and-ride ride lot. But the eating experience here is quiet, even calming, notwithstanding the attached children's play area.  The recent addition of the McCafe line of specialty drinks adds to the coffee-house atmosphere, and the strategic location, just off Interstate 5, makes it a popular place for low-profile—and low-budget—meetings between business people.
